Cyril Killeen R.I.P

December 07, 2020

All at the club are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Cyril Killeen.

A life-long member of Castlebar Mitchels, Cyril had a family connection right back to the formation of the club. His grandfather Peter played on the first Mitchels team in 1885 and on the first County winning team of 1888. His son James played from Bord na nOg to adult level and is the current club PRO.

Cyril possessed a warm personality and infectious smile, who loved his club and was loved by his club. He left an indelible mark on anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Cyril is survived by his loving wife Annie, daughter Laura, son James, grand-children Luke, Grace and Ada, son-in-law Nolly, daughter-in-law Cathy, brothers Peter & Oliver, sisters Dolores & Pat, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Removal from his residence this Thursday at 10.45am for Funeral Mass at 11:30am in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, followed by burial afterwards in the New Cemetery. Due to the HSE and Government guidelines the funeral at all stages will be private for family only.
Cyrils' Funeral Mass can be viewed on the Castlebar Parish Webcam http://www.castlebarparish.ie/web-cam/ or listened to in Castlebar on the Parish Radio Channel 105.3FM.
