MITCHELS SAY THANK YOU TO OUR FRONTLINE WORKERS

August 10, 2022

Castlebar Mitchels, in conjunction with Murray Ambulances, are hosting a ‘BBQ of Appreciation’ for all frontline workers in our community to say thank you for the dedication and the care they showed to us all while delivering critical services during lockdown arising out of COVID-19. These incredible workers took on the burden of risk and responsibility to care for us during this difficult time.

The members of An Garda Síochána, the Fire Services, HSE, and the Ambulance Services (auxiliary, voluntary, private and public) are invited to this event with free BBQ, music, and fun, where we, as a community, can say ‘thank you’ to those that stood on the frontline throughout the pandemic. The event will take place on Friday, August 26th at An Sportlann with doors opening at 7 pm. Entertainment on the night, starting at 9 pm, will be provided by Tomás Langan and friends and a great night of fun is guaranteed.

In March 2020, the whole world was thrown into disarray by the spread of COVID-19. It was a frightening time for us as we had never seen anything like this in our lifetime. With schools and businesses closed, and life coming to a complete standstill, we all relied on the frontline workers to keep the essential services available to us all, especially the most vulnerable in society, and these amazing people stood up at a time when we needed them. This is now our chance to say thank you.

All members of our frontline workers, and their families, are invited.
