Castlebar Mitchels ?Recipes for Success? Virtual Workshop

Castlebar Mitchels held an online Healthy Eating/Nutritional course on Saturday 20th March from 11 to 1pm. 30 young adults participated. The session, with Lorraine McHale B.Ed.(Home Econ), focused on sports nutrition, and cooking and baking healthy meals for optimum performance.


Dishes prepared: 1. Butternut Squash and red pepper soup.  2. Spaghetti Bolognese with wholemeal pasta.  3. Wholesome blueberry and banana muffins. 3. Stacs brown bread.


The session offered invaluable tools not only for young athletes serious about optimising their performance, but also for young adults potentially progressing into third level education  -  their first requirement, fending for themselves in the kitchen. It was fun, practical, educational, and sport and health oriented.
