Spliced - One Man Theatre Show at An Sportlann

October 07, 2019

Spliced, a one-man theatre show about performer and writer, Timmy Creed’s experience of growing up within the GAA, will be coming to Castlebar Mitchels An Sportlann on Saturday 19th of October at 8pm with The Linenhall Arts Centre.

Timmy Creed plays hurling. He loves it, he hates it, but for better or worse, it’s a part of him. Written with sportspeople in mind, this one man show, uses everything Timmy’s experience in the GAA has to offer - he is physically and mentally stepping on and off the grass to portray the toll the expectations of the game took on him, and what an overriding single focus does to a young mind.

Honest, brave, joyous and hard-hitting, Spliced is a visceral account of Timmy's struggle to become an individual outside of the sporting institution that raised him. Let’s talk about identity, masculinity and mental health in the clubs at the heart of our communities.

The show is coming to An Sportlann on Saturday 19th of October at 8pm and we would like to invite you and all your club members to attend. This show is for members of the GAA, it’s for sportspeople, it’s for anyone who’s felt the love, joy and complete sorrow of sport and for theatre goers too. Tickets are €16 for an adult and €14 concession, it is suitable for 14+ and can be booked here- https://thelinenhall.ticketsolve.com/shows/873611888
